The German-Arab Chamber of Industry and Commerce (AHK) was established in Egypt in 1951. Representing more than 2500 members AHK Egypt is the largest organization in the framework of business cooperation between Germany and the Arab world. It plays a pivotal role in fostering trade and industrial development, enhancing business cooperation among Germany, Egypt, Jordan, and Lebanon. A key focus area of AHK is vocational training, including establishing a vocational training system based on the German dual approach. This involves supporting dual vocational trainings in partnership with local companies and training institutions, as well as providing policy advice. Additionally, through various special projects, AHK supports skilled labor migration from Egypt to Germany, including the Skills Expert project.
The Pro Recognition Project is part of a set of projects under the umbrella of te AHK / DEinternational offering support for skilled labor migration from Egypt and Lebanon to Germany.
Pro Recognition focusses on the recognition of professional qualifications from Egypt and Lebanon for professionals planning to take up work in their learned profession in Germany. The project team offers free of charge consultations and ensures personalized support during the procedures, as well as information about topics like visa procedures and living and working conditions in Germany. It collaborates closely with DEinternational Egypt’s vocational training department, which operates based on the German dual training model, and also as with various skilled migration projects within AHK / DEInternational as well as external partners to best prepare candidates for working in Germany and also connect them to potential employers. The project is supported by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF).
About the position
- Personalized consultation for candidates on the recognition of professional qualifications
- Personalized support during the procedures, as well as information about topics like visa procedures and living and working conditions in Germany.
- Organization of conferences and events informing about working in Germany and the recognition process
- Consultation for potential employers from Germany
- Cooperation with other skilled labor initiatives
- Assisting in the reporting to the project coordinators at DIHK and BMBF in Germany
Required qualifications
- Relevant degree, preferably in business administration, vocational education, social studies, or law.
- At least 2 years of relevant work experience in migration, vocational training, or similar projects
- Knowledge of the German job market and social environment, ideally with work or educational experience in Germany.
- Familiarity with the German training sector is an advantage.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, German and Arabic (German ideally at C1-level or higher).
- Ability to work in a close team and with external project partners.
- Very good communication skills.
- Enthusiasm for a customer-driven role.
- Experience working in an international team or with international clients, demonstrating confidence and awareness in an intercultural setting.
- High proficiency in MS Office programs.
- Determined, resilient, and able to cope well under stress.
- Willingness to travel locally and internationally.
